Bringing together of generations – a trip to Old Hastings House
Year 2 pupils from Dudley Infant Academy visited residential care provider Old Hastings House to read to the residents and share stories.
The visit took place on the 1st October, providing an opportunity for the students to get out into the local community and share their reading skills to the residents. This provide not only a great chance for the pupils to demonstrate their skills, but also brought many a smile to the faces of those residing at Old Hastings House.
Academy Principal, Stuart Maclean said that ‘It was wonderful to watch the children interacting with the residents, and we were so incredibly proud of the kindness and respect that was shown by the children. A great example of our Dudley values in the local community’.
As can be seen from the images, the experience was massively welcomed and enjoyed by all involved and we are incredibly proud of the pupils for their behaviour.
